Rockland News – º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ recently rose from number six to number one out of 76 New York nursing schools for its Associate’s Degree in Nursing program. The ranking was done by NursingProcess.org, a website that compiles nursing education and career information data.

A new pilot program in Rockland County is enriching the lives of people with special needs. Project Elevate is a new community class teaching vocational life skills to people with special needs. The two-week program at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ includes courses on fitness, first aid, cooking and cellphones. “It’s a wonderful experience — lots of happy faces. We’re so happy to be here at Rockland County Community College, and we’re looking forward to our session in August,” said Christina Bertocchi, of Project Elevate.

Hudson Valley News & Events – º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ honors class won second place in the Global Solutions Sustainability Challenge where twenty-seven international teams from institutions in the U.S., Iraq and Jordan competed in a competition focused on technology and sustainability.

Rockland County Times – Two º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ students recently competed in an inaugural online debating tournament and took home top prizes. The tournament was held virtually on April 18 and included six competitors representing º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ, Columbia University, Dominican College, NY and Swarthmore.

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ has earned the 2021-2022 Military Friendly® School designation, earning the Bronze distinction in the process. The designation is given to a school that scored within 30 percent of the Ten Best Schools with exceptional military/veteran programs.

Patch – The county is listed as No. 21 on the Top 30 Local Government list of the largest green power users.

River Journal News – º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ (º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ) has recently joined forces with White Plains-based Today’s Students Tomorrow’s Teachers (TSTT) to help expand the pipeline of students of color to pursue teaching professions. º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ is the first community college to partner with TSTT and all º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ TSTT graduates may be eligible to continue their journey in education and attend one of 23 national and regional college or university partners. TSTT will provide º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ students with academic support, career guidance, workshops, networking opportunities, and teacher placement assistance.

Campus News – º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ recently received two prestigious recognitions for its Nursing Program. NursingProcess.org, a website that compiles nursing education and career information data, ranked º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµâ€™s program as second out of 153 New York State Board of Nursing approved schools to pursue an associate degree program in nursing. In addition, RegisteredNursing.org, a nursing advocacy organization, released its annual list of the 2020 Best RN programs and ranked the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ nursing program sixth out of 101 in New York State.
