All tests of the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests are administered by the Placement and Assessment Office, located in the Technology Center, Room 8280A (2nd Floor).

- Speak with your Student Success Advisor to confirm the CLEP exam aligns with your degree plan.
- Review CLEP credit and º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ course equivalents.
- Credit and score requirements vary by academic department.

Scheduling a CLEP Test at Our Center
- Register and pay for CLEP: Pay for your CLEP exam online via the My Account portal:
- Submit the CLEP Reserve a Date form at least two weeks before your desired test date. A separate form is needed for each exam. Updated form coming soon.
- Pay the $30 non-refundable registration fee per test (link coming soon or pay at the Student Accounts office). The fee must be paid in advance to reserve a spot.
- Military Fee Waiver: Current/former SUNY Rockland students who are veterans, active duty, Reservists, or military-affiliated (including spouses/dependents) are exempt from the $30 fee. Bring military ID, DD214, or documentation on test day.
Several exams (American Literature, Analyzing and Interpreting Literature, College Composition Modular, and English Literature) have optional essays that accompany the multiple-choice exam. The essays are required for SUNY Rockland students. If you are an º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ student and will be taking the Spanish CLEP, please register for the exam that indicates Spanish with Writing. As of May 1, 2023, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ students must take the essay component for the Spanish CLEP to receive the transfer credits.
The College Composition Modular test is 70 minutes and the other three tests are 90 minutes long.

Test Day Requirements
Bring the following:
- Valid government-issued photo ID (must match name on ticket)
- Acceptable IDs include: Passport, driver’s license, state/national/tribal ID, naturalization certificate, military ID, green card.

CLEP® are nationally standardized credit-by-exam tests recognized by most institutions of higher education across the nation.
At-Home CLEP Exam
How to Sign Up for an At-Home CLEP Exam
Students can take any of the 34 CLEP exams from home, with the same format and timing as in-person exams.
To register, log in to the , select at home with remote proctoring as the test center, and pay the $95 exam fee + $30 proctoring fee.
If accommodations are needed, students must get approval from the College Board before registering by submitting .
Once registered, CLEP will email instructions on creating a Proctortrack account to schedule the at-home exam.
Eligibility:
- Must be 13+ and in the U.S. or DANTES-funded.
Requirements:
- PC only (no Macs), webcam, mic, speakers, and whiteboard or sheet protector with a dry erase marker for notes.
- Must be alone in a private room.
