Why Study Teacher Education?
Providing future generations with a quality education is the most important role that teachers play in our society. This important career choice offers opportunities for professional service as well as tremendous personal satisfaction. The ߲Ƶ Teacher Education Transfer program currently offers three degrees to prepare students to transfer and complete their teacher certification requirements. The Associate of Science Teacher Education program will prepare students to transfer to a baccalaureate program to continue their education in Early Childhood Education (Birth – grade 2), Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) or Adolescence Education (Grades 7-12). In addition to taking initial courses in Teacher Education, students also take courses in their Liberal Arts concentration choice of: Math, Biology, History, Art, English, or Foreign Language. Students who complete the program and want to seek immediate employment may obtain positions as teaching assistants.
